WEEK 1
LEARNINGS
-by taking apart the electronic objects, I got to know what electronics actually consists of, there are so many precise components in the object which I didn't know about before, it surprised me that there is such a complex construction under that "plastic"
COLLABORATIVE LEARNINGS
3
MAKER SKILLS AND ATTITUDE
-I learned about the filaments which you can use for the 3D printer, and that you can either print with the support (which you break apart later) or with the washable filament which you wash away afterwards and you don't need to apply the finishings manually to the 3D printed object
-get the appropriate knowledge for how to use Fusion 360, now I am able to create my own 3D objects
-always have to print the support if you do not use the washable filament, otherwise the object will collapse while printing, because the printer can not print in the air, always look for the best way to print the object, do not print the support on the layer which is not visible on the outside
-never print on the 3rd 3D printer (the biggest one) because for some reason it takes twice the amount of time for the same object as the other two newer printers do
-I got to know how to use correctly the measuring equipment and importantly to measure it precisely every single time
-realised how important it is to plan which screws are you going to use in your object, otherwise can happen that the measurements you used in your 3D object are not realistic and consequently compatible with screws that exist and are common
-I was working with Wouter and Duy-Linh, from the beginning, the very first day when we started to research and open two objects the process was going well since Wouter explained all about the parts and how they work the collaboration was good
-in the next days Wouter was sick so we couldn’t collaborate and Duy-Linh was working individually at home, so we were not really able to share the view or knowledge, which actually would be really helpful since Wouter had the knowledge about it
-during this week I was collaborating with Kaj the most, since he helped me with 3D program and drawing the object ideas, he suggested me elements which I could incorporate and beside that as well solved my object from being printed in a wrong way, since one of the technicians set the wrong settings and then helped me with making different settings which include support on one of the objects, also he helped me with drawing the corner support for the screws
-whatsoever the positive part was that on Tuesday I was really able to get the introduction lecture about Fusion 360 by Kaj since I was the only one present, after his broad explanation I really started to understand the programme
first picture shows printing the object behind without the support, second video shows the correct way to print it with the support
-during this collaboration I missed the working together element, brainstorming and sharing the knowledge but on the other hand I was able to really learn the programme and learn how to manage unfamiliar things by myself which pushed me also outside my comfort zone
-pay attention that you create enough support (for example in the corners) that the screw won't break through the filament of the 3D printed object
